N’Golo Kante is backed to put pen to paper on a new contract offer by Chelsea, claims Fabrizio Romano, with the France international’s future at Stamford Bridge subject to much speculation as of late.
The 30-year-old midfielder had been a pivotal presence on the Chelsea teamsheet this past season and was key to the Blues being crowned the Champions of Europe with a win over foes Manchester City in the final played in Porto.

He wanted to stay last summer after some ‘complicated’ weeks and two bids received, Chelsea want to reward Kanté.

Kante has just two years to go on his existing deal with the west London giants and despite Romano claiming that he had been subject to interest from other clubs last summer, the former Leicester City man is convinced on staying put at Chelsea beyond this summer’s transfer window.
Chelsea are tipped to table a new offer in front of their first-team star regular in the coming months as Thomas Tuchel sets his sights on the ongoing transfer window to bolster his squad in time for the new season.
Dortmund’s Erling Haaland remains the priority signing for the German coach who is eager to add attacking talent to the options currently at his disposal.
