Chelsea are understood to be in the final stages of the contract extension talks with veteran central defender Thiago Silva whose terms are due to expire next summer.
The Brazil international has been an important figure at the back for the west Londoners under Thomas Tuchel’s management with the gaffer keen to extend a new deal to the highly-experienced centre-back.
Thiago Silva contract extension with Chelsea is not in doubt. It’s just about paperworks to be prepared and signed in the coming weeks/months. He’s gonna stay until June 2023. 🔵🇧🇷 #CFC

According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are set to close down the negotiations underway with the 37-year-old Silva and his representatives with the player in line to put pen to paper on extended terms.
Romano, however, adds that the Blues camp are increasingly likely to lose out on mainstay Antonio Rudiger come next summer with the Germany international’s long drawn out standoff with the board not coming to an end anytime soon.
La Liga giants Real Madrid are the frontrunners ahead of the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain to land Rudiger’s signature on a free transfer and offer him a bumper pay package to convince him for the move to the Spanish capital.
