Chelsea are reportedly hoping to gain ground on the transfer front from the rumoured complications in Rafael Leao’s contract talks with AC Milan.
Graham Potter’s front line has come under much criticism of late with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, both of whom arrived last summer, failing to hit the ground running in the attacking third.
The Stamford Bridge camp’s interest in moving in for the Serie A talent Leao, who has impressed in the Milan shirt since making the move to Italy, has come as no surprise to many with Potter urged to bolster his ranks in the January window.
According to a report from Sky Italia, it is claimed that the change of agent from the 23-year-old winger has thrown the talks with Milan into turmoil while his demands of €9m to €10m per year in wages have added to the uncertainty over his future.
Chelsea will be backed to keep a close eye on any future updates on Leao’s talks with the San Siro outfit who are preparing themselves to listen to big-money offers in the region of £105 million.
