Chelsea are hopeful that star attacker Mason Mount will be deemed fit to feature in Sunday’s trip to Villa Park in the Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
Mount was brought off the field at half time in the Blues’ Champions League win over AC Milan on Tuesday night and it now reported that he is in line to undergo a scan on a thigh issue.
According to The Athletic, it is claimed that Mount is expected to be involved in the weekend clash away at Aston Villa and his scan is believed to be a precautionary measure by the Chelsea medical team.
Mount has been one of the top performers for Chelsea under the new head coach Graham Potter who will be backing on his in-form playmaker to make the starting team sheet in the Midlands against a misfiring Aston Villa side.
The 23-year-old England international has started every match since Potter took over at the Bridge last month with Mount’s stellar run of displays making him immune to the squad rotation witnessed in recent weeks.
