Chelsea are said to be hopeful of agreeing on a fee with Sevilla this week and fast-track Jules Kounde’s move to the English capital.
Kounde has been eyed up by the Blues gaffer Thomas Tuchel since the last summer’s transfer window but Sevilla have remained firm on their pricing demands as Barcelona joined the race for the highly-rated central defender.
Sevilla holding out for €60m+ for Jules Kounde. They prefer a straight-cash deal and are hoping for a bidding war potentially taking fee closer to €65m. Chelsea hopeful of agreeing a fee this week. Barcelona yet to formally bid with Sevilla waiting to see what comes from them.

According to CBS Sports’ journalist Ben Jacobs, Kounde could soon be on his way to Stamford Bridge with the young France international excited about the possibility of playing alongside the new Chelsea recruit Kalidou Koulibaly.
Sevilla are holding out for an asking price which runs north of €60 million with the Spanish club eager to cause a bidding war between Chelsea and Barcelona with the latter in the mix for Kounde’s signature despite financial woes at Camp Nou.
Barca head coach Xavi has remained keen on moving in for Kounde but Chelsea are hoping to wrap up talks with Sevilla sooner rather than later and land the centre-back to bolster their defensive ranks heading into the new season.
