Chelsea hold the edge over Paris Saint-Germain in the chase to sign the highly rated Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
The Blues, despite adding Argentine World Cup star Enzo Fernandez to their ranks in the January window for a British record fee, are expected to bring in another fresh pair of legs for the engine room come the summer.
The French U-21 international Kone is said to be one of the potential targets for the Stamford Bridge outfit who are out to rebuild their squad before the next season gets underway and provide Graham Potter with big-name recruits from the market.
According to a report from The Sun, Kone’s brilliant displays for Daniel Farke’s Monchengladbach this season has attracted the interest from Europe’s biggest clubs including Chelsea who are tipped as the frontrunners to land the midfielder’s signature.
The lack of a defensive midfielder in the Chelsea ranks has added to Potter’s worries following Jorginho’s exit and N’Golo Kante’s recurring injury troubles which could set the stage for a new signing to freshen things up at the Bridge.
