Chelsea have reportedly held talks with the ex-Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards over a potential move to Stamford Bridge for the man who earned plaudits for his dealings at Anfield.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, Edwards is being courted by the Chelsea camp despite reports of him wanting to take a year-long break following his departure from Merseyside earlier in the summer.
The new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is said to be keen on recruiting Edwards to add to his side’s backroom staff after the loss of the long-serving Marina Granovskaia who nears her exit from the Bridge.
Edwards, however, is wary about linking up with the Blues as he wants to refresh and recharge before signing for another side besides he is concerned about the degree of freedom he would enjoy at Chelsea.
The Blues have brought in the likes of Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and Manchester City frontman Raheem Sterling in the summer window so far but have lost on signing Jules Kounde and Raphinha with both players joining Barcelona.
