Chelsea has been working quickly in the January transfer window; after reaching an agreement to sign Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile, they have now finalised a deal to sign Vasco Da Gama’s Andrey Santos.
Santos has been a player that Chelsea has been in talks to sign for weeks, and on Thursday, the player flew to England to undergo his medical at the club.
It’s expected that the signing will be revealed either today or tomorrow. As of now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has officially revealed the signing.

Chelsea and Andrey Santos’ team have reached an agreement on personal terms, and all of the agreements between the two clubs have been signed. Santos is in London to undergo his medical test, and once that is done, it will be time for Chelsea to formally reveal the player as a blue.
Chelsea will pay a fixed fee of €12.5 million, less than the initial €20 million that was reported in the media. It is their second deal, following the one with David Datro Fofana, and they will shortly close a third one with Benoit Badiashile.
Santos won’t likely be sent out on loan right away; Chelsea will first evaluate him in training. They possibly believe he can contribute because of their recent struggles in midfield.
As part of his long-term plans, Todd Boehly continues to identify and sign top young talents from all over the world.
