Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy mulling over heading out the exit door at Stamford Bridge after losing his first-choice status at the club to Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Mendy has become the second choice option between the goalposts for Chelsea since Graham Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel with the former preferring Kepa to the starting berth on the team sheet.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, it is hinted that Mendy is fearful of curtailed game time in the near future at the Bridge and could look to make a move elsewhere to earn regular first-team football.
The Senegal international has started Chelsea’s previous four outings with Kepa on the sidelines due to an injury and it is said that Mendy remains hopeful of convincing Potter of his return to the XI once the Premier League season resumes next month.
Potter, meanwhile, has his sights set on moving in for the Brighton shot-stopper Robert Sanchez, whom he had previously worked during his days at Brighton, with the Spaniard emerging into one of the top goalkeepers in England’s top flight.
