Chelsea gaffer Thomas Tuchel is said to have made contact with top target Raheem Sterling ahead of lodging a bid for the Manchester City star.
Tuchel’s hunt for reinforcements in the attacking third of the pitch have been fast-tracked of late with the German coach set to part ways with his last year’s marquee signing in the Inter Milan-bound Romelu Lukaku.
The England international Sterling, whose future at the Etihad has attracted much speculation, has emerged as one of Thomas Tuchel’s top names on the shopping list before the summer transfer window slams shut.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Sterling is ready to leave City this summer with just one year remaining on current terms with the English champions and Chelsea are readying an offer of between £50 million and £60 million for their target.
Chelsea’s incoming Todd Boehly-Clearlake ownership have given the backing to the boss Tuchel of as many as six new signings to overhaul the Stamford Bridge ranks before the new campaign gets underway.
