Since Roman Abramovich removed Frank Lampard from the managerial position, a storm of farewell messages started flowing over various social media platforms. Chelsea right-back Reece James has not kept quiet following the news of Lampard’s sacking. He used social media to remember the contribution Lampard had for the team and also has thanked Frank Lampard for allowing him to “live his dream”.
Chelsea went through a rough patch of games, losing in the last five fixtures out of eight. Their poor run of form saw them in the ninth position of the Premier League table and owner Roman Abramovich didn’t waste any time to take a harsh decision. The decision was made in just 24 hours of Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Luton Town in the FA Cup on Sunday.
After Lampard’s removal as a manager, the defender James, who was given the chance to make a debut by Lampard in September 2019, took to social media to pay credit to his former boss and thank him for all the faith and trust he had installed in him.
James wrote on Instagram: “As a Chelsea fan growing up I’ve always looked up to you, idolized you. I can’t explain what it’s been like to play under you, the whole journey has been surreal.
“I cannot thank you enough for putting my trust in me and giving me the opportunity to play for my boyhood club!
“Thank you so much for all you have taught me, which I will continue to use throughout the rest of my career.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to live my dream. I’ll forever be grateful.”
Reece James had never imagined such a big impact during his time at Stamford Bridge. Lampard gave him an opportunity to prove himself at the very ultimate level despite James being so young. Last season, James represented 37 times in entire competitions, scoring just two goals and registering three assists.
