Chelsea fear Presnel Kimpembe will turn down a move to Stamford Bridge this summer despite repeated efforts to bring in the Paris Saint-Germain star defender.
Kimpembe has been eyed up by his former PSG boss Thomas Tuchel who is busy scouting the transfer market for reinforcements to bolster a depleted defensive roster at Stamford Bridge before the next season kicks off.
The France international centre-back, however, is believed to be growing cold on the idea of moving to the English capital in a setback to Chelsea’s plans of adding to their options at the back, according to a report from The Evening Standard.
Tuchel could be forced to change his priority on the transfer front in light of recent events with Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde emerging as the viable candidate on Chelsea’s wishlist following a breakthrough in talks to sign the 23-year-old La Liga star.
Barcelona’s strong interest in moving in for Kunde does complicate matters at the Bridge but Tuchel would be hopeful of reaching an agreement with Sevilla in the coming days to bring in his third signing of the window.
