Chelsea face competition from Newcastle United for signing Marcelo Brozovic

Chelsea are in line to face competition from Newcastle United for signing Marcelo Brozovic with the midfielder running out his deal at the San Siro.

The Croatia international’s contract with the Serie A holders Inter Milan is due to expire next summer and there are rumours doing the rounds that Chelsea are keeping close tabs on Brozovic.

Thomas Tuchel could be in the market for a new midfield player in the summer window next year with the Chelsea boss unlikely to retain the services of his loan signing Saul Niguez who was a deadline day recruit for Chelsea this time around.

With Brozovic in their sights, Chelsea have a new club joining the race to sign the midfield man with Newcastle United hoping to bring in the Inter Milan maestro on a free transfer and make him their first major signing under the new Saudi owners, claim reports from The Sun.

The Magpies are expected to become big players in the transfer market following their recent change of ownership and Brozovic’s signature is one that will be prioritised by the St. James’ Park outfit.
