Chelsea Eyes Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin for Summer Transfer

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the Everton forward has recently became a possible target for Chelsea’s summer transfer plans.

The Blues are looking to add offensive players to their lineup as Romelu Lukaku and Armando Broja are set to depart soon.

While Lukaku has a £38 million release clause, this summer, Napoli is interested in signing him.

Broja has attracted interest from Monaco, Southampton and Wolves. At 27, Calvert-Lewin is older than the average age group that Chelsea looks to target.

He should be given careful thought though because he is a homegrown player and is acquainted with the Premier League.

Calvert-Lewin is considering his options despite Everton’s attempts to retain him by extending a new contract.

His progress has been hindered by injuries which kept him out of the Euro but he is still a dangerous goal scorer when he recovers.

He scored 7 goals in 32 league games in the previous season. It is anticipated that Chelsea will adopt a highly offensive approach at Stamford Bridge under the direction of new manager Enzo Maresca to acquire him.

Since Nicolas Jackson is the only available striker on the team right now having multiple forward options is imperative due to this tactical shift. Consequently, it is thought that adding Calvert-Lewin would be a wise decision.

To pay for their transfers Chelsea is looking to let go of a number of players in addition to looking for new strikers.

One such player is Conor Gallagher, an England midfielder for whom the club is open to offers of up to £50 million.

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to depart as well as left-back Ian Maatsen who made an impression while on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Chalobah is anticipated to be sold despite his impressive play near the end of the previous campaign following his knee injury recovery.

Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig is another forward that Chelsea may want to consider. In conclusion bolstering their forward line is a major priority for Chelsea’s summer transfer plans.

Their hunt for new strikers has intensified due to the probable departures of Broja and Lukaku with Calvert-Lewin emerging as a top target.

Even though Maresca is an aggressive manager, Calvert-Lewin may decide to consider his options and move to Stamford Bridge even though Everton is eager to keep their star forward.
