Antonio Rudiger’s highly uncertain future in the Chelsea colours beyond the next summer means that Thomas Tuchel will look for reinforcements to shore up his options at the back.
Jules Kounde and Matthijs de Ligt are two names that are long believed to be priority targets in the transfer market for the Chelsea boss Tuchel who would be willing to bring them in should Rudiger head out the exit door.
With Tuchel starting hard at the possibility of his star defensive names Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and skipper Cesar Azpilicueta leaving the Stamford Bridge fold next summer, the Blues would be eyeing up fresh blood to bolster the ranks.
According to reports from Goal, it is suggested that a double move for Kounde and De Ligt could well be on the cards for the west Londoners in case talks with Rudiger and Christensen over extending their terms prove futile.
Thomas Tuchel had previously sounded out hope that the Dane star man Christensen will renew his deal but Chelsea are understood to be resigned over losing Rudiger who has Real Madrid chasing his signature.
