Chelsea are said to be engaged in talks with Napoli to sign Kalidou Koulibaly who has emerged as a top target at Stamford Bridge this summer.
The 31-year-old centre-back enters the final 12 months of his stay in Naples and after his refusal to sign extended terms, Chelsea have gained ground in their pursuit of the Senegal international’s signature.
Tuchel will find Chelsea are not the only European heavyweight club in the picture for the Napoli defensive mainstay who is also wanted by Serie A giants Juventus, according to a report from Sky Sports.
Chelsea have lost out on two established first-team regulars in Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona this summer and the west Londoners are expected to bring in new recruits to fill the void at the back.
Besides Koulibaly, the likes of Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Manchester City man Nathan Ake, a former Chelsea player, are the other names on the wishlist with the latter believed to be closing in on a return to the English capital.
