Chelsea are claimed to have the edge over domestic rivals Manchester United in the pursuit of Monaco midfield talent Aurelien Tchouameni.
The 21-year-old France international has been eyed up by some of the biggest clubs across Europe following his breakthrough in the Ligue 1 with Monaco which has earned him rave reviews and a call up to the national team fold.
Paul Pogba’s long-term future at Old Trafford beyond the next summer remains shrouded with uncertainty and with United seeking a replacement from the market, Tchouameni fits the bill for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to fill the void to be left by Pogba’s exit.
Reports from ESPN ( via The Daily Express), however, suggest that it is Chelsea who are leading the race to sign Tchouameni from Monaco next summer with the Blues enjoying a good relationship with the player’s agent Jonathan Kebe.
Kebe also manages Sevilla central defender Jules Kounde, another player top of Thomas Tuchel’s shopping list after the Chelsea boss failed to land his signature in this summer’s transfer window.
