Chelsea are reportedly seeking a sizable transfer fee to part ways with Stamford Bridge outcast Davide Zappacosta in the summer transfer window as he returns to west London following a loan spell in the Serie A.
Zappacosta joined Genoa in the previous summer with the Italy international struggling for minutes on the pitch whilst at the Bridge amid the arrival of Reece James on the big stage which meant an imminent exit for the former.
Reports from TeamTalk claim that Chelsea want to cut short their losses on the initial payment shelled out by them to bring the Italian defender to the Bridge from Serie A outfit Torino four summers ago.
With the full-back now nearing the end of his deal with Chelsea with his contract only running until the summer of next year, the Blues are understood to be looking to offload the player but for a double-figure transfer fee.
The new Chelsea gaffer Thomas Tuchel has another decision on his hands to make during the summer window with England international Fikayo Tomori’s future subject to much uncertainty as he nears his return to his parent club after a highly-promising loan spell at AC Milan.
