Chelsea could swap Ruben Loftus-Cheek for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who is regarded as a top name on Todd Boehly’s wishlist.
The Blues are gearing up for what is expected to be a heavy period of spending when the transfer window reopens in the New Year with the recently-appointed boss Graham Potter looking to bolster his ranks.
According to a report from the Italian publication Calciomercato, it is claimed that Chelsea are weighing up a move for the Serie A talent Milinkovic-Savic, a name that has often been linked with a switch to England’s top flight in the recent past.
It is said that the Blues are hoping to emerge as the frontrunners in the widely contested race to land the Serbian international maestro by sending Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the opposite direction to convince Lazio to green light the transfer.
Loftus-Cheek’s move to the Stadio Olimpico would reunite him with his former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri and allow Chelsea to pull off a major coup in the transfer market ahead of rivals Manchester United and Arsenal.
