Chelsea could make a late move for Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge as Graham Potter looks to bolster his engine room in the final stages of the January transfer window.
The Blues have been keen to reinforce their options in the centre of the park with veterans N’Golo Kante and Jorginho both of contract at the Bridge come the end of the season and linked with moves elsewhere which has come as a worry to the under-fire Potter.
According to a report from talkSport, Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom has admitted that there is interest from other clubs in signing his star first-teamer Berge who has courted attention from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the recent past.
The Norway international midfielder is rumoured to be on the shopping list for both Chelsea and Liverpool with the two clubs, who have endured a shaky season so far and sit mid table in the standings, desperate to rebuild their roster ahead of the transfer window slamming shut on Tuesday night.
A contest between Chelsea and Liverpool for Berge’s signature could be a second tussle on the transfer front between the two sides who have also been linked with a move for Wolves man Matheus Nunes.
