Chelsea could be forced to recall loanee Billy Gilmour in January from Norwich City with the midfielder’s game time curtailed at Carrow Road under Daniel Farke.
The Scotland international had made the move to the Premier League’s new boys in this summer’s transfer window on a season-long loan arrangement with Thomas Tuchel hopeful that Gilmour will work on his progress with more opportunities under his belt.
However, that has not been the case for the 20-year-old midfielder of late with Gilmour being an unused substitute for Daniel Farke’s side across the last three outings despite Norwich seated at the foot of the league standings.
Reports from The Daily Express have suggested that Chelsea’s sporting director Marina Granovskaia could be in line to issue a recall for Gilmour’s return to Stamford Bridge as early as January should his situation at Carrow Road not witness a change.
Chelsea are pondering hard over the future of deadline day loan signing Saul Niguez beyond next summer with the Spain international off to an uninspiring start at Stamford Bridge and unable to cement a first-team berth for himself.
