Chelsea confirm Marcus Bettinelli’s signing on a two-year contract

Marcus Bettinelli has arrived at Stamford Bridge and will put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea who now have their third-choice goalkeeping spot filled ahead of the start of the new season.

Reports from the club’s official website confirm Bettinelli’s signing by the Blues who had decided to make a move for the former Fulham shot-stopped after his release from Craven Cottage this summer.

Bettinelli’s arrival to bolster Tuchel’s options between the sticks

The 29-year-old new recruit will feature behind the likes of Edouard Mendy and Kepa in the pecking order at Chelsea but Bettinelli could be called into action should injury fortunes go against Thomas Tuchel’s men in the upcoming campaign.

Bettinelli was a major target for the Chelsea boss after the veteran Argentina goalkeeper Willy Caballero had called it quits at the Bridge in this summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea expected to wrap up Jules Kounde’s signing shortly

After announcing the arrival of the former Fulham man Bettinelli, Thomas Tuchel will be hopeful of adding another impressive fresh face to his camp in the form of Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

The Frenchman has emerged as the priority target for Chelsea as of late and talks between the two clubs have been going on with speculation of Chelsea including Kurt Zouma in their deal for Kounde gaining ground.
