Chelsea FC have confirmed the signing of Kai Havertz on a five-year deal ahead of the 2020-21 season. The German starlet’s move from Bayer Leverkusen has cost the Blues a fee worth £75.8 million and the 21-year old attacker becomes Frank Lampard’s seventh signing of this summer’s transfer window.

Havertz had been the subject of great interest from Chelsea FC in recent months leading up to his arrival in London to sign a long-term contract with the Blues. He missed Germany’s latest UEFA Nations League game against Spain in order to complete the formalities associated with his impending move to Stamford Bridge.
The player joins Chelsea FC on the back of a fantastic 2019-20 campaign in front of the goal. With 18 goals and 9 assists in 45 games across all competitions, Havertz was a quality player last season for Leverkusen, making the youngster a prospective target for top clubs in Europe, including the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
As a part of sweetening the deal for Leverkusen, who had been very rigid over their pricing concerns for Havertz, the Blues will allow their new signing Malang Sarr to spend the next season on loan at the Bundesliga club. The French center-back had joined Frank Lampard’s side on a free transfer last month.
