Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of ex-boss Frank Lampard as their manager on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
Lampard is believed to be a stop-gap hiring for the Stamford Bridge giants who are on the search for a long-term option for the next season after head coach Graham Potter was relieved of his duties on Sunday evening.

An official statement from Chelsea has sounded out that Lampard will be taking over as the caretaker manager in the club’s all-time leading goalscorer’s return to the Bridge two years after he was sacked from the top job.
The former England midfielder had been out of a job since Everton sacked him earlier this week with the Toffees again in danger of relegation and Chelsea have now brought in Lampard to steer them through troubled waters for the next couple of months.
Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique remain the favourites for the Chelsea managerial position come this summer with reports suggesting that the latter had travelled to London to hold further talks with the Blues board.
