As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea had made arrangements for Christopher Nkunku to undertake medical tests before to a potential transfer in an effort to gain an advantage over other clubs.
Several elite clubs, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are interested in the 24-year-old attacker. However, the blues has made an effort to take the lead after supervising personal medical testing in Frankfurt a few weeks ago with a Chelsea orthopaedist present.
According to sources close to Nkunku, there was no agreement with Chelsea or any other club, and all players at the club received standard medical exams. The German daily Bild was the first to report on the test.
A €60 million release clause in the RB Leipzig star’s contract is reportedly expected to go into effect in the summer of 2023.

Given that other teams are interested and the clause is not yet in force, the blues has expressed a readiness to pay that fee; nevertheless, no agreement has yet been struck.
The French star had scored a total of 35 goals in 52 games played in all competitions last season. Nkunku has already scored six goals in 11 appearances this season.
The France international can operate as an attacking midfielder, a second striker, or a centre-forward. The 24-year-old has been highlighted as a target by co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, who are eager to pursue a transfer plan that involves acquiring younger players with long-term contracts.
Chelsea was interested in signing Nkunku this summer, but Leipzig wanted to keep him for another year and reached an agreement with the midfielder to extend his contract to 2026.
