Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly wants Romelu Lukaku sold in the summer with the Belgian striker out of favour at his parent club following a miserable campaign on his return to the Premier League.
Lukaku had re-signed for the Blues in the summer of 2021 but his woeful run of form set the stage of his exit upon which he made the move back to Inter Milan on a one-year loan with the option to extend that for a second season.
Amid rumours that Lukaku wants to stay put at San Siro beyond the coming summer, his parent club Chelsea are keen to cash in on the 29-year-old forward as the owner Todd Beohly wants a more youngster squad at the club’s disposal.
According to a claim from the Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport ( via Sports Witness), the Blues camp are ready to part ways with the former Everton and Manchester United man which could come as a boost to Inter Milan.
The Serie A heavyweights are looking forward to retain Lukaku’s services and should the player accept to lower his wages from the €8.5 million/year he currently pockets, a more favourable deal could be on the cards for the San Siro outfit.
