Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is reportedly interested in buying Ligue 1 club Strasbourg less than a year after he splashed big money on the Chelsea takeover.
The American businessman has been generous in providing Chelsea with funds on the transfer front since taking over the ownership reigns with Chelsea’s investing close to £600 million on new signings over the last two transfer windows.
According to a report from Goal, it is claimed that the French top flight club Strasbourg, who finished sixth in the league last season, is on the radar of Boehly and his investment partners with talks already underway with the Strasbourg camp.
Boehly wants a 100% stake in Strasbourg with the Ligue 1 side likely to become a feeder club for Chelsea who can ship out players on loan to the former and reduce the size of the bloated squad that has proven to be a worrying point for Graham Potter.
It is also understood that Boehly is keeping tabs on potential investment opportunities in the German market as the businessman seeks to expand his sporting teams portfolio – one which includes Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks and Los Angeles Lakers.
