Chelsea boss Graham Potter is rumoured to be eyeing up a cut price move for Noah Mbamba as an alternative to Brighton talent Moises Caicedo who has worked with the manager before at Brighton.
The Blues find themselves in dire need of reinforcements to freshen things up in the midfield department with veterans N’Golo Kante and Jorginho expected to move on in the summer when their contracts expire.
With the 21-year-old Moises Caicedo, who has impressed many with his displays out on the south Coast available for a hefty price tag this January window, Chelsea could turn to other cheaper options in the transfer market.
The 18-year-old Mbamba is understood to have caught Chelsea’s eye before this month’s transfer deadline, according to a report from the German outlet Kicker, with the Stamford Bridge camp keeping tabs on the Club Brugge midfielder.
Leverkusen had been close to agreeing a move for Mbamba in the summer before Chelsea threw their hat in the ring for the teenage talent who also have Crystal Palace in the chase for his signature.
