According to the latest reports Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger has declared himself fit for the clash against Norwich City on Saturday with something to think about for Frank Lampard.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has not had a great start to life at the club as a manager as he is yet to win a competitive game this season. The 41-year-old suffered defeats against Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League season and Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup before getting a point against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Blues have shown defensive lapses and Lampard is quite desperately in need for a boost which he might receive for the trip to Carrow Road as German central defender Antonio Rudiger is ready to return back to the first team.
Rudiger limped off the pitch at Old Trafford back in April when Chelsea faced Manchester United last season and spent a lengthy spell on the sidelines. This meant that Chelsea had to play a shaky pair of Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma for the start of the new campaign as David Luiz and Gary Cahill departed the club.
The 26-year-old Rudiger played the 90 minutes against Liverpool in the U-23’s clash on Monday and impressed onlookers with his defensive attributes. Rudiger might have to settle for a place on the bench as Lampard might not want to drop the defender into the thick of things.
The ex-England midfielder might give Rudiger some game time so that he can get a feel of playing in the first team on Saturday against Championship winners Norwich City.
