Chelsea have blocked a loan exit this summer for their wantaway centre-back Trevoh Chalobah who looks set to stay put at the Bridge for the 2022-23 campaign.
The English defender, following his breakout season in the Chelsea shirt last term, had been subject to interest from the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and RB Leipzig over the course of the summer transfer window.

According to the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Chalobah will be retained by Chelsea beyond September 1’s deadline with the 23-year-old agreeing to fight for his place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad after meeting with the new owners.
The Chelsea defender had also been tracked by local rivals Tottenham Hotspur with the North Londoners, on the hunt for defensive reinforcements this summer, mulling over a permanent transfer for Chalobah.
Talks with Chalobah over convincing him to rebuff interest from elsewhere comes at a time when Chelsea are on the verge of snapping up Leicester’s Wesley Fofana in a £70 million plus add-ons deal to freshen the backline.
