Chelsea are currently leading in the pursuit of Ajax star Mohammed Kudus, edging out competition from London rivals Arsenal.
There are ongoing discussions between Chelsea and Kudus, as Mauricio Pochettino’s team seeks to strengthen their squad ahead of the Premier League season.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been with Ajax since 2020 and garnered attention worldwide after representing Ghana in the World Cup last year. His impressive performances have attracted interest from various clubs.
According to The Independent, Chelsea are currently at the forefront in the pursuit of Kudus, and they have an advantage in potentially pricing Arsenal out of the deal.
The Blues have reportedly prepared a more appealing package for the Ghanaian star compared to their cross-town rivals.

Chelsea have been able to provide greater clarity to Ajax regarding the transfer fee, believed to be around £40 million, and the wages they are willing to offer Kudus.
This increased transparency and attractiveness of the overall package have put them in a strong position to secure the player’s signature.
Kudus, who was close to joining Everton last season, now seems likely to become a part of Pochettino’s revamped Chelsea squad.
The Blues are in need of new players to fill the gaps left by the departures of key players like Kai Havertz and Mason Mount during this summer transfer window.
Another potential addition to Stamford Bridge is Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, but negotiations have hit a stand-off over the £100 million price tag for the star player.
Brighton had shown interest in Kudus following Alexis Mac Allister’s departure, while Manchester United had also considered the midfielder before acquiring Mason Mount from Chelsea.

Kudus declined an offer to extend his contract with Ajax and has openly stated his intention to leave Amsterdam in search of fresh challenges elsewhere.
Despite being under contract with Ajax until 2025, the player is determined to explore new opportunities in his career.
