According to the latest reports, Premier League side Chelsea has agreed to a deal with Real Madrid for the transfer of midfield maestro Mateo Kovacic in a €45 million move to Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.
The Blues have to brace for a tough period over the near future as the club is in a bit of a tough situation at the moment. Chelsea just lost their star winger Eden Hazard to Real Madrid as the Spanish side splashed out £132 million for the Belgian attacker’s services. Even master tactician Maurizio Sarri departed Chelsea to join Juventus and the managerial vacancy at West London is yet to be decided upon.
The Blues will also face a transfer ban over the course of two transfer windows which will prevent them from signing any players at the club for the whole year. However, Chelsea manager to snap up a deal for Mateo Kovacic this summer following his move on loan from Real Madrid last term.
The Croatian international impressed heavily during Sarri’s reign and notched up 51 appearances for the club across all competitions for Chelsea in his debut season at the club. But despite Sarri’s departure, Kovacic has admitted that he wants to remain at Chelsea and continue playing his football for the Premier League club instead of returning to the Spanish capital.
The Los Blancos are also willing to accept a deal for Kovacic and are agreeing to sell him if the Blues match their valuation of the 25-year-old midfielder. Reports claim that Real Madrid and Chelsea have agreed upon a €45 million transfer deal for Kovacic and an announcement could be expected over the coming few weeks.
Chelsea will now be able to complete the permanent signing of Kovacic because he was already registered as a footballer at the London club. The Europa League winners managed to get the deal done before the end of 30th June which begins kick starts the day of their transfer ban.
