Chelsea have reportedly agreed on a £25 million deal with Brighton for Robert Sanchez with the Spanish goalkeeper set for a move to west London this summer.
The Blues had been on the search for a new shot-stopper with the new head coach Mauricio Pochettino keeping close tabs on the Brighton goalie Sanchez who enjoyed a stellar campaign on the south coast last term.
According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that Sanchez will make the switch to Stamford Bridge, to become Chelsea’s seventh new signing of the summer transfer window, for an initial £20 million plus an additional £5 million in potential add-ons.
Sanchez was left behind for Brighton’s pre-season tour of the United States with speculation rife over his future at the Amex in recent times after the Spainiard was displaced as the club’s first choice goalkeeper by Jason Steele at the back end of last season.
Chelsea had earlier been credited with an interest in moving in for Brentford’s David Raya, however, the Blues camp were unwilling to entertain the £40m asking price for the soon to be Arsenal recruit.
