Chelsea were held to a 1-1 stalemate on home turf by Everton who snatched a late leveller to leave Stamford Bridge with a point on Thursday night.

Both sides had a mixed start to the game but the home side emerged on the front foot and hoped to take advantage of Everton’s woeful form to take an early lead.
Reece James and Mason Mount had their efforts going wide of the goal and Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford had to be at his very best between the sticks to deny the likes of Ziyech and Pulisic.
Mount forced a fantastic save from Pickford 10 minutes before the game’s interval at half time with the Chelsea playmaker coming the closest to finding the opener inside the first period of the game.
A strong start to the second half from Thomas Tuchel’s men failed to give them the much-needed breakthrough to come out on top with Pickford standing strong to keep his side in the reckoning.
The Everton goalie, however, could not prevent his fellow England international Mount from netting in the 70th minute with James involved in the build-up to make it 1-0 for the Blues.
19-year-old Branthwaite came clutch for the visitors to level the scoreline from Anthony Gordon’s free kick with Chelsea unable to take the lead once again as the final whistle meant the sharing of spoils at the Bridge.
