Champions League 2020 Group Draw: Chelsea in Group E with Sevilla

Champions League group stage draw was conducted today in Geneva with thirty-two clubs getting divided into eight groups of four. Here is the complete draw.

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea FC has fallen in Group E. They will face Spanish club and Europa League holders, Sevilla in the Champions League 2020-21 group stages.

Sevilla is a strong side under the tactical genius of Julen Lopetegui. They have beaten Italian giant, Inter Milan and almost defeated UCL champions, Bayern Munich after tremendous performances.

It is too early for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy who will face Rennes in the group stage match. He has recently joined the Blues from Ligue 1 the club in a £22million deal and is like to face his former club at UCL.

Mendy made his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup fourth round, where the Blues were defeated  5-4 on penalties.

The Senegalese keeper who has arrived to replace error-prone Kepa will face a tough challenge.

Apart from the matches against Sevilla and Rennes, the blues will also travel to Russia to play against FC Krasnodar who is also in the same group.

Sevilla and Chelsea are likely to progress to the next rounds of UCL according to the football pundits.
