Chelsea has a global fanbase estimated to be around 145 million people. Given the success of the club in the past two decades, the worldwide appeal of the club has also grown exponentially. Since the Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich took over, Chelsea has won no less than 18 major trophies, averaging more than a trophy every year. Even in a league as competitive as the Premier League, Chelsea has managed to stand out with such a prolonged period of success.

Within their 145 million fans, many have made a big name for themselves as well. Here we’ll see who are the top 10 celebrity fans.

#1: Bill Clinton

The 42nd president of the United States of America was known to be a proud Chelsea supporter. His fandom was to such an extent, he named his firstborn, his daughter, Chelsea Clinton. Clinton was also known to visit Stamford Bridge several times during his stay in England in the 60s when he was studying at Oxford.

#2: Amitabh Bachchan

An absolute legend of the movie industry, Amitabh Bachchan himself has a huge fanbase. Known worldwide for his acting skills, Amitabh Bachchan has mentioned his love for his favorite club, Chelsea FC several times. His son, Abhishek Bachchan is also a massive supporter of the club, and the duo has been seen at Stamford Bridge several times. He is quite active on Twitter as well, often posting updates about goals and other things.

#3: Lord Richard Attenborough

Lord Richard Attenborough was a Chelsea fan from the 40s when he was a student at RADA. He made his name in the movie industry, by winning two Academy Awards and four Golden Globe awards out of many other honors. He was a lifelong Chelsea fan and was said to have attracted many other celebrities into becoming Chelsea fans as well.

He was made the lifelong club president in 2008, and his demise in 2014, at the age of 90 was a very sad moment for the club. His lifelong commitment to being a Blue is no mean feat, as he stuck with the club during its tough phases, even when the club was on the brink of bankruptcy in 1983.

#4: Gordon Ramsey

Celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsey is known for his swearing and top-level banter/ abusing the participants on his shows. Before becoming a chef, the Scottish born chef had tried his hand (read feet) at football at Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish League, and is still a big backer of the club. He claims to have played two first-team games for the club, however, club historians have denied this claim of the 16 Michelin star holder.

Ramsey has often been seen with his kids at Stamford Bridge cheering on the Blues in his jersey. He has also been spotted wearing the jersey out in public, showing his support for the club proudly.

#5: Shane Warne

A legend in the Australian game, Shane Warne is a lifelong Chelsea fan. He started following the club when he visited Stamford Bridge in 1989. Shane explained that when he was playing league cricket in Bristol and was on the tube trying to get back, the crowd from Stamford Bridge was returning after they had lost a game. A man ran up to Warne and asked him which club did he support. After seeing the knife in the man’s hand, Warne answered that he was indeed a Chelsea fan. Since then, he has been following Chelsea.

Warne’s son is also a massive Chelsea fan, especially Eden Hazard’s. He also had the privilege of meeting the Belgian, when Chelsea were on tour in Australia during pre-season.

#6: Will Ferrell

Popular comedian and comedy actor, Will Ferrel is a true blue. He has many pictures of him visiting Stamford Bridge and being inside the dressing room with the players.

He was made the honorary captain during Chelsea’s match against Inter Milan in a pre-season friendly in the US in 2009. He was often seen donning the Chelsea shirts (2003/04, 2004/05) but denied having allegiance to any particular club. However, he couldn’t keep it in when Chelsea visited the US in 2012.

He also sported the Blue jersey during his visit to Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show, showing his love for the Blues proudly.

#7: Kevin Pieterson

An essential part of the English cricket set-up from 2005 to 2014, Kevin Pieterson has expressed his love for Chelsea FC several times, be it on talk shows or during his famous Instagram Live sessions with other cricketers. Pieterson who still holds the record for the fastest player to cross 2000 ODI runs, has been seen bantering Manchester United fans regularly on Twitter, often trolling their midfielders or the manager.

#8: Sir Michael Caine

British producer, actor, and author Sir Michael Caine has been a lifelong Chelsea fan. He is a six-time Oscar nominee and has been a part of all-time classics like, The Italian Job and Alfie. Once, after an interview with Australian newspapers, he mentioned that he was going to watch his beloved Chelsea play Manchester United in the high definition TV.

#9: Bryan Adams

Canadian singer and songwriter Bryan Adams is known to be a Chelsea fan. The Grammy award winner, Bryan Adams is an avid supporter and makes sure to go see Chelsea play whenever he has the chance. The Summer of ’69 singer, also recorded a song “We’re gonna win”, in support of Chelsea.

#10: Jimmy Page

According to some sources, the guitarist for Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page is a Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter, however, there is also overwhelming information about how much he backs Chelsea. Jimmy has been seen in the stands at Stamford Bridge several times, supporting the club he loves
