Callum Hudson Odoi hails the great quality of Hakim Ziyech’s vision

Chelsea’s Callum Hudson Odoi has expressed his growing bond with Moroccan Hakim Ziyech on the pitch, which resulted in his goal in the 4-0 victory against Morecambe at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea showed how the two wingers formed a formidable partnership they linked up too many times switching the play that finally resulted in Chelsea’s third goal. Ziyech put up a lobbed chip over the Morecambe’s defenders which Hudson Odoi followed and struck the ball into the net.

‘Hakim and I have that little partnership where we know one another’s capabilities and what one can do,’ explained Hudson-Odoi. ‘As soon as he got the ball I made the run because I knew he can find those passes. It was a great ball by him to find me in behind.’ said Callum as per Chelsea’s official Website.

It was a dominating performance from the Blues and it was much needed after a bad phase of results coming consecutively in the Premier League. This win in the FA Cup took Chelsea to the fourth round.

Callum is hopeful that Chelsea will again have an impressive run in this competition just like they did last season before losing to Arsenal in the final.

‘I’m happy with the result. I think that all the boys played well. We never underestimate any game that we play in, so we came into the game with the right attitude knowing that we had to get the job done and we did very well.

‘I’m happy with myself, I’m happy with the team, everybody is excited. We want to be and do better every game so we are going to keep trying in training and keep working hard.

‘It’s a big competition and we want to go as far as possible. We try our best in every game we play and we are delighted to go through to the next round.’

The young winger is expecting this to be the beginning of the great performances coming ahead as he also points out the need to work hard more in order to compete with the top teams of the league.

‘We keep improving and keep working hard,’ said Hudson-Odoi. ‘This game was a good step for us, we want to go back into the right way of winning games, so hopefully, this is a start of good things and we keep going and keep pushing.

‘We want to keep pushing on from this game and hopefully keep winning games and get a good run. As I said, this game was a good step. I feel like we needed this game to show the right mentality and attitude to get the job done.

‘We kept a clean sheet and scored four goals which is a good thing for us. We want to keep improving at both ends of the pitch. We are all going into the next game against Fulham full of confidence trying to win that game as well.’

He himself wants to continue his consistency in front of the goal and help the team in difficult times and crucial matches as well.

‘Nobody is a perfect player. There are always flaws and you want to keep improving every day. I want to keep working hard and learning every day. I want to keep educating myself whether it’s at home watching clips or just learning under the manager. He knows what to do and he knows what is right for me and how to play so I want to keep learning under him and working hard.

‘Every time I get on the pitch or in training, I want to give my best every time. I want to give 110 percent in the match. I want to always make sure that I’m ready. The best way you train is the best way you play in a game,’ he added.

Chelsea will be again in action this Saturday to play their Premier League fixture and Callum Hudson Odoi will surely be hoping that his team fires from all the cylinders to move up in the League table.
