Callum Hudson-Odoi is reportedly closing in on joining Bayer Leverkusen on loan with the Chelsea winger set for a move away from west London until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
The English forward is seeking regular football this season and following his fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, Hudson-Odoi was subject to interest from a host of clubs across the Premier League.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, it is claimed that the 21-year-old Hudson-Odoi is set to sign for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen in a season-long loan deal with the transfer expected to be completed later this week.
The likes of Newcastle and Southampton had been credited with a strong interest in the Chelsea starlet who, after careful consideration, has decided to make the move to Germany after talks with the Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.
Boehly is understood to have personally pleaded with Hudson-Odoi to leave only on a temporary basis with the player still highly viewed by the Chelsea camp despite making just Premier League games last term.
