Callum Hudson Odoi Is Bayern’s Next Target If Sane Decides To Stay At City

Pep Guardiola recently admitted that he wants his star midfielder Leroy Sane would stay put at the City of Manchester Stadium in the summer amid interest from Bayern Munich.  But that is bad news for Chelsea as the Bundesliga giants will now focus their attention towards negotiating a deal for Callum Hudson Odoi.

Bayern Munich is in a transition phase at the moment as the German giants are looking to replace their veteran wingers with fresh new speedsters on the flanks. It’s clear that Niko Kovac is looking into the summer transfer window to sign a few young talents and the Croatian manager had Manchester City’s Leroy Sane at the top of his transfer wishlist.

However, Spanish manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Sane will not be leaving the blue half of Manchester if given the choice. When asked if he wants the 23-year-old winger to remain at the club Guardiola replied and said, “Yes, the club made him an offer last year. As I said many times, we want people happy to be here. We are going to help him to be the best. We know his potential and what his level is. He has a special quality difficult to find around the world. He knows, they all know, it’s difficult (to play regularly) because of the quality we have. But, at the same time, I spoke to the club 10 times (to say) I want people here to be happy. If they don’t want, they go. The desire to have him to be with us is always there.”

Guardiola’s comments will be great news for City fans but gloomy news for the Chelsea faithful as Bayern Munich will now look to target Blues winger Callum Hudson Odoi in the summer as an alternative to Sane. The Bavarians looked to poach Hudson Odoi earlier in the January transfer window but Chelsea rejected any advances for their 18-year-old prized asset.

Hudson Odoi has just one more year left on his current contract with the Blues and with lack of regular football at Stamford Bridge, the teenage sensation might look at other options. A move to the Allianz Arena could do Hudson Odoi a world of good for his confidence along with a chance to make a name for himself.
