Brighton are said to be readying a club-record bid for Chelsea defender Levi Colwill who has emerged as a top target for the Seagulls ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old centre-back was one of the first names on the Brighton team sheet under Roberto De Zerbi last season and the south coast outfit are keen to land his signature on a permanent transfer.
According to a report from 90min, it is claimed that Brighton are willing to table an offer in excess of £40 million to sign the centre-back with the Amex side also considering offering Moises Caicedo in part exchange for Colwill.
Caicedo is wanted by some of the leading Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, this summer and the Blues could be convinced to part ways with Colwill should Brighton budge on their asking price for the former.
Brighton boss De Zerbi has all but confirmed Caicedo will leave the club after his side’s final game of the season and Chelsea will be hoping to pip the other suitors – Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool – for the midfield prodigy.
