In an intense match between Brentford and Chelsea, the game ended as a draw with Chelsea defender Alex Disasi scoring a much needed header very late in match.
In the first half, the Blues were very dominating on the field and got the well deserved lead on the Bees through Nicolas Jackson’s header. However, Brentford improved their game drastically in the second half, with goals from Mads Roerslev and Yoane Wissa leading to a dramatic turnaround.
As the match neared its end, Chelsea’s Disasi managed to equalize with a strong header, ensuring the game concluded in a thrilling draw, saving the Blues from a potentially demoralizing loss.
How the game unfolded
Very early in the game, a close range volley attempt was made by Ivan Toney but was was blocked. After this Yoane Wissa tried a long range shot but it was curling wide of the goal.
Despite Chelsea showcasing moments of potential and domination with 75% possession, their performance was poor because of unrefined plays, resulting in very little goal-scoring opportunities in the early stages of the match.
35 minutes into the game Nicolas Jackson scored an amazing header in the bottom corner from a cross provided by Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto.
In the second half, Brentford made an impressive comeback performance, particularly with Ivan Toney’s cross leading to a series of events resulting in Roerslev’s easy tap in goal. This brought the game back into the balance.
After their first goal the Bees kept maintaining pressure over the Blues which resulted in them getting lead over Chelsea through an amazing overhead kick from Yoane Wissa.
During the dying minutes of the Reguilon hit the post with a header causing trouble to Chelsea defense. At the opposite side of the pitch Alex Disasi made contact with the ball through an amazing cross provided by Cole Palmer which resulted in goal and brought the match back in the balance.
The game ended as a draw with both teams getting a point each. This would been that Mauricio Pochettino is in immense pressure now with a run of average performances from his team in the Premier League.
