Billy Gilmour is set to hold talks with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel over his future at the club after being cut from Chelsea’s pre-season squad, according to a report from The Telegraph.
Gilmour was sent on loan to Norwich City last term but the Scotland international failed to impress during his season-long stint at Carrow Road with his return to Chelsea this summer coming amid question marks over his long-term future.
His former boss Frank Lampard, now in charge of Everton, is keen on moving in for Gilmour’s services with the young midfielder expected to open talks with Thomas Tuchel to discuss his situation in the Chelsea camp.
Everton have mulled over making an approach to sign Gilmour on loan with Lampard on the hunt for midfield reinforcements to bolster his Goodison Park squad before the next season kicks off.
Gilmour endured as tough a season as he could have expected during his Norwich spell with his poor run of displays resulting in abuse from the fans which forced his family to stop watching him turn out in action.
