Bayern Munich failed to bring in Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah on deadline day with the England defender set to remain at the Bridge for the 2023-24 season.
Chalobah was linked with a move to Bayern in the later stages of the summer window with the Bavarian giants looking to shore up their backline by signing the Chelsea defender who was on the fringes of the Blues squad.
The player was keen on the transfer to Bayern to link up with his former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel once again but the latter will be disappointed by his side’s failure to move in for the 24-year-old.
According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that Bayern were handed a setback in their pursuit of Chalobah in what was a frustrating deadline day for the German champions after their approach for Fulham star Joao Palhinha also fell through.
Chelsea, meanwhile, were also left foiled in repeated efforts to offload some academy products with Conor Gallagher’s move to Tottenham Hotspur failing to materialise while Ian Maatsen has turned down the opportunity to join Burnley.
