Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic whose terms at the Bridge expire next summer.
Chelsea are expected to trim down their squad size over the summer to avoid any potential Financial Fair Play issues and Kovacic could be one of the first-team names heading out the exit door.

According to a claim from the Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Kovacic is on Bayern’s transfer radar after the former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel took charge at the Bavarian giants last month.
Although Bayern have already completed a deal to sign RB Leizpigs’s Konrad Laimer before the next season gets underway, a player of Kovacic’s profile is wanted by Tuchel who is looking to bolster his squad’s engine room.
It is said that Tuchel remains a big admirer of Kovacic from their time together in west London and the latter would be a priority target for the newly appointed Bayern head coach when the transfer window reopens for business.
