Barcelona have registered an interest in signing Chelsea flop Romelu Lukaku this coming summer with the Catalan outfit on the hunt for attacking reinforcements.
Xavi is keen to add to his options in the final third of the pitch before the next season gets underway and the Belgium international Lukaku has emerged on the transfer radar at Camp Nou.
According to a report from the Spanish news publication Marca, it is claimed that Lukaku, who has endured a terrible few months of late in the English capital with Chelsea, is a top name on the shopping list for the Barca camp.
Lukaku is understood to be unhappy at Stamford Bridge almost a summer into his big-money return to the Chelsea shirt and the 28-year-old could be shown the exit door by the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel with Barcelona keeping tabs.
Pricing constraints are likely to play spoilsport to Barca’s plans of signing the Chelsea striker with the Premier League giants more than eager to recoup a majority of the £97.5 million fee they paid to Inter Milan.
