Barcelona are understood to be closing in on completing a transfer for Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen ahead of the summer window.
Christensen has been heavily tipped to call it quits at Stamford Bridge come the end of the season with his current terms set to expire upon which he will seek a new playing destination.
The Danish international defender has long been courted by the Barcelona camp with the Catalan giants looking to add depth to their backline by dipping into the market in the forthcoming transfer windows.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Sport, it is claimed that Christensen’s camp have sounded out a ‘verbal OK’ to Barcelona for a swift conclusion of the deal and make the Dane their new signing.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will be forced to scout for reinforcements to bolster their ranks at the back with the boss Thomas Tuchel in line to face a defensive exodus as the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta look for a move away.
