Barcelona are reportedly closing in on landing Chelsea centre-back pairing Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen on free transfers in the summer window.
The Catalan giants have long been linked with both Azpilicueta and Christensen, who have less than six months to go on their current deals at Stamford Bridge, and have rebuffed attempts to renew terms with Thomas Tuchel’s side.
According to reports from Sport, it is claimed that the Camp Nou outfit are in line to conclude pre-contract agreements for the Chelsea contract rebel duo sooner rather than later in a blow to Chelsea’s defensive ranks.
Thomas Tuchel is resigned to losing his mainstay Antonio Rudiger come the end of the season and joining the latter out the exit door at the Bridge could be his teammates Azpilicueta and Christensen.
Real Madrid lead the widely contested race to secure Rudiger’s signature from Chelsea in the summer with the Germany international holding out for a bumper pay package to stay put in the English capital.
