Barcelona and AC Milan are said to be battling it out to sign Chelsea maestro Jorginho who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge come next summer.
The Italy international’s terms with Chelsea are due to expire at the end of the ongoing campaign and uncertainty looms over his future with the Blues who are keen to tie him to a new long-term deal.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet SPORT, it is claimed that Barcelona will provide a challenge to the Italian champions AC Milan’s hopes of landing Jorginho on a Bosman transfer in the coming months.
The former Napoli man has often been linked with a return his homeland with the likes of Juventus and his old club Napoli also credited with an interest in his services despite Chelsea’s efforts for renewal with their midfield general.
A move away from the Bridge for Jorginho would further increase the pressure on the head coach Graham Potter to eye up reinforcements with his engine room options proving to be limited following recent injuries.
