Chelsea will face Atletico Madrid in their first leg of the round of 16 of Champions League on Tuesday night. It will take place in Romania instead of Atletico’s home due to COVID protocols over travel.
Atletico Madrid is currently sitting at the top of the LA Liga table, three points above Real Madrid with still one game less played. They have been in fine form but they have tasted defeat against Levante in their previous match with a 2-0 scoreline. They have won one out of their last four games. They were behind group leaders Bayern Munich in UCL.
Chelsea, meanwhile, has qualified for the knockout stages comfortably as they topped the group with 14 points. However, they have had a 1-1 stalemate against Southampton in their previous match as well. But currently, Tuchel is on an unbeaten run and will likely keep the same.
