Atletico Madrid is keen to land Chelsea’s fullback, Marcos Alonso as per the reports of Football. London via Spanish TV show El Chiringuito. These speculations came just before the winter transfer season and rightly so because Alonso has been deprived of gaming time under Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard.
He is struggling to get even a cameo appearance because of the huge competition in the full-back position. Ben Chilwell arrived from Leicester this summer and he has been a regular starter and his back-up has been Emerson Palmieri.
Alonso has struggled for game time so far this season following the arrival of Ben Chilwell in the summer and it’s believed he could be one of the players allowed to leave in the January transfer market.
The speculations say that Diego Simeone will like to have Alonso on a season-long loan deal and he would certainly like to return to his home country, Spain to thrive at Wanda Metropolitana. The reports say the two clubs have already agreed to have a 50-50 split of his wages until the end of the season.
Instead, it seems La Liga and Atletico could be his next destination with a loan deal being mooted. The report claims the two clubs will split Alonso’s wages 50/50 to complete a loan deal lasting until the end of the season. Alonso has a contract with the Blues till the year of 2023 and could join the Spanish club where he will again compete with the likes of Yannick Carrasco and Renan Lodi.
